DHI’s Director of Research travelled to South Korea during the week of June 23rd to review reports on the latest developments of hair restoration research carried out by our Seoul Research Center.

Recent findings from the Democritus Institute and our Athens and London Clinics were also presented and discussed with the Korean team. Dr Vekris, a plastic surgeon, has lead DHI’s research efforts since 2007.
This was be his first visit to DHI’s longest standing research partner.

BBC Reporter Chooses DHI

This June, BBC Reporter Andy May received his first DHI session at our Athens Clinics.
After covering his experience, he was back at on air for the London evening news the very next day.
Mr. May had investigated DHI for his new program earlier this year.
Having found our results superb, he has returned for his own sessions.
The option to split the DHI session over multiple visits allows him to return to work immediately after a session.

Several positions at DHI’s international level have recently been filled by some of our most capable team members.
George Stathis, formerly General Manger of DHI’s largest clinic in Athens, has been named Director of Quality Control and Evaluation.
Mr. Stathis’ twenty years of experience in the field and intimate knowledge of our client’s needs make him the perfect fit for one of the most vital positions in the DHI programme.

Long time General Manager of our London Clinic, Lorraine Lambert is now the Director for Northern Europe.
Her leadership in DHI’s hugely successful development of two clinics in Ireland help to establish her as the best candidate to head our newly announced expansion into Northern Europe.
Dr Tasos Vekris is DHI’s Medical Director. Appointed earlier this year, Dr Vekris is a skilled plastic surgeon who first experienced DHI as a patient. He will lead research efforts as well as oversee proper implementation of all medical techniques.

The Fatigue Factor

DHI Ireland Director Dr. Patrick Treacy successfully distinguishes between designer cosmetic surgery and normal morphic surgery in The Dubliner’s February 19th article: “In Defense of Cosmetic Surgery”.

Dr. Treacy who also directs the Irish Branch of The British Association of Cosmetic Doctors identifies a major issue of concern with regard to plastic surgery: “To use the analogy of a car, anybody can get a license to drive a car and can drive anywhere and drive over anybody.

Standards of care are not being reached by most people practicing surgery at the moment”.
The article rightfully concludes that vulnerable patients have to be protected from unethical cosmetic surgery practices.

National Research Body to partner DHI on treating hair loss

DHI has signed a partnership agreement with Demokritos, Greece's National Centre of Scientific Research, to undertake joint new research into treating hair loss.
Key areas will be body hair transplantation, hair multiplication, and hair follicle regrowth. Demokritos (http://www.demokritos.gr/index_muk.asp) is formed from eight separate institutions that collectively specialise in sectors such as nanotechnology, bioactive molecules and biotechnology, medicines and diagnostic technologies.
Their expertise and extensive research resources will ensure DHI remains at the forefront of developing new tools and methods for successful hair restoration.
